About The Position

At LIBERTY Dental Plan, we are committed to making quality dental care accessible while delivering exceptional service to our members, providers, and clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and ensuring the accuracy of critical financial processes. This is a Hybrid position with an expectation of the team member being in the Tustin, CA office three days a week and working remotely the other two. The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for monitoring cash receipts and ensuring payments are received, processed, and recorded accurately and timely. This position supports invoicing, collections, reconciliations, client billing inquiries, and audit activities while helping maintain the integrity of the organization's accounts receivable operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Sage 300 accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Process and apply daily payments accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly invoices.
  • Manage collection activities and monitor aging receivables.
  • Escalate delinquent accounts as appropriate.
  • Perform premium reconciliations and account balancing activities.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding billing, eligibility, and account-related matters.
  • Process payments received over the phone.
  • Support financial audits by providing documentation and account analysis.
  • Calculate monthly accounts receivable reserves and document reserve rationale.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
