Part-Time Accounts Recievable Accountant

Aston CarterKansas City, MO
$25 - $35Onsite

About The Position

We are seeking a Part-Time AR Accountant to support a busy accounting team during a leave coverage through November. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for flexible, part-time hours (around 20 hours/week) while still playing a critical role in the month-end close process. The position is fully on-site with a customizable schedule (Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm window), with the expectation of working a fuller day during the first few days of month-end close. This role offers competitive pay ($25–$35/hour) and the chance to step into a hands-on, high-impact position with immediate responsibility. In this role, you will take ownership of accounts receivable activities tied to month-end close, including preparing and posting journal entries, performing bank reconciliations, maintaining aging reports, and supporting general ledger accuracy. You’ll work heavily in Excel and utilize an accounting system (AS400 preferred) to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting. There is also some light collections work and collaboration with internal stakeholders, making this a well-rounded AR opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and experienced in AR and close processes, and who can commit to the full 4–5 month contract. If you enjoy autonomy, flexible scheduling, and making an immediate impact, this is a strong short-term opportunity. This part-time Accounts Receivable Specialist role focuses on managing all accounts receivable activities related to month-end close and ongoing accounting processes. You will prepare and post journal entries, perform reconciliations, maintain aging reports, and ensure credit balances in bank statements are accurate and properly recorded. The position uses Excel for reconciliations and reporting, and AS400 for posting journal entries. This role offers the opportunity to work in a flexible, supportive, small-company environment where you can operate autonomously and contribute directly to the accuracy of financial records.
