About The Position

The Accounts Receivable Accountant is based at Rocket Lab’s headquarters in Long Beach, California, and is responsible for accounts receivable, billing, and collections. The role supports the New Business Controller and the Accounting/Finance Department. The position may also involve projects assigned by the Long Beach headquarters and other related duties as required.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in business administration is preferred; a combination of education and related years of experience will be considered.
Two or more years of accounts receivable, billing, collections, and accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with government contracts and government billing.
Experience working with customers’ billing portals.
Experience with Infor LN, BAAN, Oracle, JDE, SAP, or a similar ERP system.
One year of government billing experience and knowledge of WAWF and EXOSTAR preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Set up new customers.
Create and send invoices.
Follow up with customers regarding billing, collections, and late payments.
Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
Reconcile accounts and monitor customer account details, including delayed or missed payments.
Research and resolve payment errors.
Review and run accounts receivable aging reports.
Assist with monthly close.
Assist with and participate in audits as needed.
Assist with cash receipts forecasting.
Assist with government incurred cost submissions.
Assist with provision and final rate adjustments.
Assist with projects assigned by the Long Beach headquarters.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
