Overview of the Role - The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payables. In addition, the Accounts Payable Specialist will provide backup to the Senior Accounting Specialist with the general balancing needs of credit union accounts and assist with other accounting functions.

Requirements

  • Determined and motivated individual with a positive attitude.
  • An Associates Degree in Accounting is required. An accounting certificate with 2 years experience in general accounting position, and/or equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, creative problem solving skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Excel spreadsheet functions.
  • Experience using financial software product(s).
  • Independent but also be able to thrive in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all Accounts Payables for payment and approval. Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Daily balancing of the Corporate Checks, Money Orders, Share Drafts along with Branch and Remote Deposits.
  • Order ATM cash and schedule delivery.
  • Process daily ATM and Card Balancing procedures.
  • Process all incoming wires and setup outgoing wires for the mortgage department.
  • Track corporate VISA billing and ensure accuracy for auditors.
  • Generate reports as requested by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
