About The Position

This role is a key leadership position within the finance organization, responsible for owning and scaling the full accounts payable function in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. You will combine hands-on operational excellence with people leadership, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement. Partnering closely with accounting, finance, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will help strengthen controls, streamline workflows, and support timely financial close cycles. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 6+ years of general ledger or accounting experience, with strong exposure to accounts payable operations.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and current accounting standards.
  • Hands-on experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, expense management tools, and related platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee all accounts payable operations, including vendor setup, contract review, invoice and credit approvals, payments, aging reports, and past-due follow-ups.
  • Manage annual 1099 preparation and filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with accounts receivable and client-facing teams to reconcile passthrough spend and ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Review, approve, and ensure accurate posting of expense reports and travel and entertainment transactions.
  • Ensure proper general ledger coding across cost of sales, expenses, departments, client IDs, and required tags.
  • Prepare and review AP-related journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls to protect the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Lead process improvements, policy development, and ad hoc projects to support efficiency and a faster month-end close.
