About The Position

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to own and elevate a department of four within a growing HVAC and construction services organization. This role is designed for an accounting professional known for sound judgment, strong presence, and the ability to lead with credibility and influence. This position provides end-to-end ownership of Service AP and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Progressive leadership experience in accounts payable, including a minimum of 2 years of direct people management
  • Strong understanding of AP controls, governance, and general ledger impact
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with influence, professionalism, and sound judgment

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC service and/or construction accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with job cost accounting and AIA billing environments preferred
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience contributing to process improvement, system implementations, or operational transformation
  • Familiarity with ERP or paperless AP environments (e.g., SamPro, Timberline, P‑Vault)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Service Accounts Payable team, fostering accountability, consistency, and professional standards
  • Own AP performance, internal controls, and vendor governance for the Service division
  • Partner closely with Accounting, Operations, and Purchasing leadership as a trusted advisor
  • Drive AP process improvements, system enhancements, and scalable workflows
  • Support financial integrity through close partnership on month-end activities, reconciliations, and audit readiness
