About The Position

We are seeking an exceptional Accounts Payable Manager who brings a strong sense of ownership to the table and excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments. This role will be integral in supporting day-to-day accounts payable operations, managing vendor relationships, and partnering with our internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate thrives in navigating ambiguity and balancing competing priorities while maintaining a consistently high standard for accuracy and precision. This role is more than just processing invoices – you’ll leverage strong accounting fundamentals daily while building a scalable Accounts Payable function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years leading the AP function
  • Uncompromising attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills paired with strong accounting judgment and a solutions-driven mindset
  • Passionate about accounting operations with a hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves mentality

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Netsuite and/or Ramp
  • Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or other high-growth manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable cycle, from invoice intake and processing to approvals, payment disbursement, and account reconciliation.
  • Process a high volume of invoices and requests – ensuring proper coding, contract and purchase order review, approvals, and adherence to company procedures.
  • Lead vendor management by maintaining pristine records, facilitating vendor relationships and communications, and proactively resolving issues and discrepancies.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Shipping and Receiving, and Finance to ensure accurate three-way match, goods receipt, and timely payments.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with tax reporting and regulatory requirements, including annual 1099 filing.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the accounts payable function by identifying opportunities for automation, increased efficiency, cost reduction, and adoption of best-practice processes.
  • Collaborate with the broader accounting team on month-end financial close activities, external audit requests, and ad-hoc projects.
  • Work 4-5 days per week out of our office in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California.
