About The Position

Reinicke Athens, Inc. (RAI) is a full-service steel fabricator and construction firm providing design, engineering, fabrication, and erection services across the Southeast. Established in 1996, RAI has earned a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and long-term client relationships, including work with Fortune 500 companies and major general contractors. We are seeking a hands-on Accounts Payable Manager who is ready to take ownership of a critical function within a stable and growing construction company. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level accounting professional who enjoys leading a small team, improving processes, and being part of a company where their work directly impacts operations. The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the daily AP operations, supervise team members, and support the Accounting Manager and Controller with reporting and process improvements. This role balances team leadership with hands-on execution and provides visibility into broader financial operations. We are looking for someone who wants to grow into increased responsibility over time and be a key contributor within a collaborative accounting team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience
  • 1–3 years of team leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong understanding of AP workflows and internal controls
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a structured but fast-moving environment

Nice To Haves

  • Construction accounting experience including subcontractor pay applications, lien waivers, retention tracking, and job costing is preferred but not required. We are open to candidates with strong AP leadership experience who are eager to learn the construction side.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor Accounts Payable staff
  • Provide training, assign tasks, and ensure workload balance
  • Foster accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Support employee development and performance growth
  • Oversee full-cycle accounts payable processing
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoice payments in accordance with contract terms
  • Review invoice coding and approvals
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, 1099 reporting, and COI collection
  • Partner with Accounting Manager and Controller to maintain strong internal controls
  • Provide reporting on AP aging and cash flow impact
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close and annual audit preparation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within AP workflows
  • Contribute ideas for system enhancements and automation
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives as needed
