Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for working with the external vendors, internal market operations, and the corporate accounting department to ensure timely and accurate recording and processing of the accounts payable transaction cycle.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; secondary education preferred
• 2+ years of full cycle accounts payable experience
• Knowledge of accounts payables principles and practices required, including coding of invoices
• General accounting knowledge required, understanding of debits and credits
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with strong excel experience
• Team and Customer-centric mindset
• Detail oriented with high volumes of data
• Self-sufficient with the ability to adapt to a changing environment
• Time management with a focus on deadlines and accuracy

Nice To Haves

• Concur Invoice and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Process efficiently and accurately code invoices
• Route invoices to the appropriate departments and review departmental coding
• Ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and employees
• Maintain vendor files, ensure new vendor information (including W-9) is gathered in compliance with company guidelines
• View bank exceptions daily, notify appropriate personnel when exceptions occur, issue voids/stop payments at bank and in accounting system
• Research outstanding checks, work with vendor to identify if payment is to be voided or reissued
• Provide audit/research support by preparing supporting invoices/documentation, including cancelled check copies, as necessary
• Participate in special projects and manage assigned project plans and schedules
• Perform other duties as assigned
