About The Position

Perform technical and administrative accounting work in maintaining the fiscal records and systems. You will report to the accounting supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or 4 years related experience.
  • Understanding of modern accounting theory, principles and practices
  • Basic knowledge of internal control procedures and management information systems
  • Basic knowledge of office automation and computerized financial applications
  • Basic knowledge of accounts payable functions
  • Basic knowledge of budgetary, accounting and reporting systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Execute complex multi-coding for utility and telecommunications billing through the advanced use of Excel templates. Responsible for data normalization, accounting string validation, and the preparation of large-scale batch invoice spreadsheets for system upload or by manual upload, ensuring 100% accuracy in departmental cost distribution.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly audits of 1099 reports to ensure that invoice lines are tax reportable. Lead the year-end processing, printing and mailing of 1099 forms. Act as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries regarding tax forms and corrected 1099s.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of monthly Gaming Commission batch invoices, Tribal Member monthly Medicare Part B batch invoices, and complex monthly NSSC invoices.
  • Process, audit, and match monthly complex invoices to Choctaw Nation Credit Card Program for all Procurement buyers.
  • Monitor accounts payable aging and follow up on outstanding items to avoid late payments.
  • Process domestic and international wire transfers, ensuring absolute accuracy in banking data and amounts.
  • Ensure electronic virtual credit card digital transactions are reconciled, correctly cleared, or are processed as check when expired.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
