About The Position

The Accounts Manager is responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring client retention, and driving profitability for their assigned portfolio. This role involves managing budgets, coordinating with operations, overseeing enhancement projects, and ensuring quality service delivery. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in account management or operations within the landscape or service industry, possess strong financial acumen, and excel at client communication and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in account management, sales, or operations (landscape or service industry preferred).
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial acumen with budgeting, job costing, and margin management.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and CRM/operations software (Aspire preferred).
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly.
  • Team-oriented with a hands-on, "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a 95% client retention rate through proactive communication and service excellence.
  • Lead contract renewals, including pricing reviews, renewal strategy, and value-based discussions.
  • Identify and capitalize on upsell opportunities (enhancements, irrigation, pruning, fertilization, pest control).
  • Build strong relationships with Property Managers and Board Members.
  • Conduct regular site walks and performance reviews with clients.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for all assigned properties.
  • Respond promptly to client requests, issues, and concerns.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure quality, safety, and curb appeal.
  • Coordinate punch lists and corrective actions with Operations.
  • Proactively anticipate client needs and communicate service schedules.
  • Manage budgets, job costing, and gross margin targets for assigned accounts.
  • Review budget-to-actual reports and address variances promptly.
  • Adjust budgets based on site conditions, lessons learned, and market changes.
  • Support long-term lifecycle planning for landscape, irrigation, turf, and tree health.
  • Sell and manage enhancement projects from proposal through completion.
  • Achieve a minimum 35% upsell target against contract volume.
  • Prepare estimates, proposals, and presentations for new and existing clients.
  • Assist with new account sales and route density growth.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and annual service calendars for each property.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials with Operations.
  • Work closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure service execution and efficiency.
  • Support irrigation, fertilization, and pest control scheduling.
  • Enforce company safety policies and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure job site and equipment safety compliance.
  • Oversee accurate time entry, material tracking, and reporting.
  • Ensure extra work is documented and billed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clear communication with office staff regarding job status and changes.
  • Support training, development, and performance management of assigned teams.
  • Assist Operations with production efficiency and problem-solving.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
