About The Position

This is a P&L seat where you will be running a multi-million-dollar portfolio, leading the team that protects it, and reporting directly to the VP of Cleaning Operations & Client Services as their second-in-command. If a major account is at risk, you're the one who fixes it. If an account is underperforming on margin, you're the one who turns it around. Cleaning is the industry, but this is a business leadership role. You'll own the full account management function for the enterprise portfolio, including client relationships, renewal strategy, profitability, and the team. You'll lead formal business reviews, interact with VP and C-level client stakeholders, and drive growth within existing accounts. You will also work directly with the VP of Cleaning Operations & Client Services on strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years in commercial cleaning, facility services, or a related service-based industry.
  • 3–5 years leading teams and client portfolios at the Director, VP, or executive level.
  • Strong financial acumen (gross profit, margin, operational cost).
  • Sharp negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
  • CRM/service platform experience (BrightGo, HubSpot, Mero, or similar) is a plus.
  • Industry certifications (CIMS, ISSA) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the complete account management function for our enterprise portfolio.
  • Manage major client relationships and be the point of contact for key stakeholders when issues arise.
  • Handle escalations, lead renewal conversations, and own the outcomes.
  • Develop proactive retention strategies.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Account Managers and Quality & Service Specialists.
  • Set performance standards and hold team members accountable.
  • Conduct meaningful coaching and development conversations.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and team development.
  • Grow existing accounts through expanded scope and services.
  • Proactively manage the renewal pipeline.
  • Manage labor, materials, delivery costs, and margin.
  • Partner with executive leadership on growth strategies.
  • Maintain a real-time understanding of account health, quality, and service performance.
  • Utilize dashboards to identify risks before they become problems.
  • Conduct site visits to understand the operational landscape.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new contracts and major implementations.
  • Report on performance, retention risk, and team effectiveness.
  • Partner with the VP on strategic initiatives and business scaling.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
