About The Position

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter’s 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel’s 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building’s legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan – a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan. Core Essential Functions: • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the hotel. • Maintain and run applicable reports for Finance. • Prepare and post Journal entries. • Perform collection efforts as necessary. • Post payments received for A/R accounts or deposits for upcoming groups. • Reply to credit card charge-back requests. Supply folio, registration card and copy of credit card imprint within the time allotted by the merchant. • Make collection calls on all accounts over 30 days and log results. • Attend weekly credit meeting with the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance to review the accounts receivable aging. Point out any potential trouble accounts.

Requirements

  • Detail oriented with a knowledge of Payroll timekeeping, processing detailed invoices, processing checks, and knowledge of collections
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years Hotel Accounting experience
  • Knowledge for Opera, ADP, Sun system Accounting, and Excel
