About the Role We’re looking for a reliable, detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll take ownership of clearly defined weekly tasks, with a focus on accounts payable and employee expenses. You’ll also support month-end reporting and general accounts administration. Your work will help keep our day-to-day finances running smoothly so we can continue delivering mentoring to young people. Key responsibilities include: Process approved supplier invoices and employee expense claims accurately and on time. Reconcile supplier statements and investigate or follow up discrepancies. Support month-end reporting, including routine journals and prepayments where appropriate. Maintain accurate accounts records and provide general accounts payable administration. Assist with finance projects and other accounts administration tasks as needed. Provide accounts receivable cover during periods of leave or absence. About you You’re organised, methodical and comfortable taking responsibility for recurring tasks. You bring: A qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business, or progress towards one. An understanding of basic accounting principles and accounts administration, gained through work, study or placement. Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete weekly tasks reliably and independently. Confidence using accounting software and spreadsheets, and a willingness to learn new systems. Experience with Xero and/or Employment Hero expenses would be an advantage. The confidence to identify discrepancies, ask questions and follow through to resolution. Clear communication, a collaborative approach and respect for confidentiality. You know when to seek guidance. Requirements
