The Accounting Technician plays a vital role as an effective internal and external customer service provider, skilled in a broad range of functions including clerical, administrative, and accounting tasks, along with tracking and reporting duties.

Requirements

  • Some prior experience in accounting or administrative roles
  • Exceptional attention to detail—accuracy is essential in this role
  • A strong sense of urgency and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills to balance multiple priorities effectively
  • Highly organized with the ability to maintain accurate records and streamline processes
  • Proficient in Google Sheets, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong initiative and accountability to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and on time
  • Proactive, energetic, and motivated to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and willingness to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams

Responsibilities

  • Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoices
  • Issuing cheques to vendors and handling lien payouts
  • Posting daily deposits
  • Performing general accounting tasks, including posting general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and month-end activities
  • Posting company Visa transactions, monitoring credit limits to maintain a healthy balance, and performing weekly reconciliations
  • Monthly reconciliation of vendor statements and execution of the monthly accounts payable cheque run.
