About The Position

Provides administrative and accounting support for feed, grain, and petroleum departments. Lead on inventory control processes for the assigned location and assists the Feed Accounting Manager with process controls and ongoing projects. Provides support for AgVantage software platforms, assists customers at the counter and on the phone, and supports feed operations and sales staff. Communicates with patrons and employees in a manner that will create support and loyalty for Central United Cooperative.

Requirements

  • Post high school training at the college or vocational level. Accounting emphasis preferred. Experience may be substituted for education.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Excellent customer service and communicate skills required.
  • Must be in good physical condition capable of lifting, carrying and pushing weights up to 50 pounds and have full use of both arms and legs and both hands.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, reach above, below, and at shoulder level, and work in a dusty environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years accounting experience desirable.
  • Experience in agriculture or with a Cooperative preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established inventory management procedures and support continuous improvements to inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage inventory transactions within the AgVantage system, including: Creating purchase orders for inventory purchases, Receiving inventory into purchase orders, Processing inventory transfers between locations, Completing daily batches and reviewing for negative inventory balances or margin discrepancies, Resolving issues and merging daily batches.
  • Process counter sales invoices and accounts receivable transactions through the AgVantage system.
  • Provide inventory information and support to the Production Supervisor and Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and FDA quality control regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepare departmental records and reports as requested.
  • Perform additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
  • Participate in training opportunities to enhance job performance and support ongoing system development.
  • Responsible for transfers from Le Sueur to the other locations. Verify transfer, check for accuracy, merge and file required documents to the Accounting Drive.
  • Enter purchase orders into AgVantage as orders are placed.
  • Pull purchase orders into Receiving as product comes into the warehouse. Store the necessary documents on the Accounting Drive.
  • Answer phones and assist customers as needed.
  • Support feeding programs and related products and services while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally in accordance with company policies, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Responsible for ordering and procuring normal office supplies.
  • Comply with OSHA, state and federal safety regulations, as well as company safety program.
