About The Position

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supervising accounting staff, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This role works cross functionally to maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards while driving process improvements and operational efficiency. The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Director of Accounting. The Accounting team is comprised of 3 Senior Accountants, an Accountant and a Treasury Accountant. The primary focus of the team is the accurate recording of information in the general ledger, interacting with and providing information to our external and internal auditors and ad hoc analysis and reporting.

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • ERP system experience (NetSuite experience preferred, not required).
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in a publicly traded corporate environment (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general ledger activities, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis.
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review journal entries.
  • Assist with and review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Review and approve invoice coding.
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting and operational issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Assist with training, workload planning, and performance evaluations.
  • Ad Hoc reports and requests as needed.
