Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and hotel accounting processes (night audit, PMS systems such as Lightspeed)
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and internal controls
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Responsibilities

  • Review daily accounting activity including night audit, revenue postings, and receivables
  • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting, forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank statements, and credit card transactions
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
  • Oversee billing, collections, and city ledger accounts
  • Review of invoices for accuracy, coding, and proper approvals
  • Ensure timely processing and payment of vendor invoices
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Support cash flow management, deposits, and general cashier functions
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls related to purchasing, payroll, and disbursements
  • Verify adherence to purchasing procedures, including PO matching
  • Safeguard hotel assets and maintain accurate financial records
  • Supervise and support accounting team members
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Assist with scheduling and workflow coordination
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain organized documentation and audit trails
