About The Position

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and company policies. This role supervises accounting staff, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and partners cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. The Accounting Supervisor plays a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving processes, and supporting the organization’s financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of internal controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functionally
  • Process-oriented mindset with focus on continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred, even indirectly
  • Public accounting experience a plus
  • CPA preferred (or in progress)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
  • Monitor and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Maintain integrity of the general ledger
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Oversee accruals, reserves, and financial estimates
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Identify and implement improvements to internal controls
  • Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff
  • Assign and review work to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Establish performance expectations and provide regular feedback
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardize processes
  • Support ERP system enhancements and automation initiatives
  • Strengthen documentation and financial governance practices
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other departments
  • Support inventory accounting and related controls (if applicable)
  • Assist leadership with financial analysis and reporting needs
