About The Position

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Accounting Supervisor III based at our Berea, KY facility. This role involves leading and overseeing financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. The position requires preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. A key responsibility is monitoring and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and support compliance initiatives. The Accounting Supervisor III will analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide recommendations and explanations to management. This role also supports the development of annual operating plans, forecasts, and long-range financial planning activities. Additionally, the position coordinates accounting and reporting activities across multiple locations within the Americas Division and supervises, coaches, and develops accounting team members while managing workload priorities and performance. Championing process improvement efforts that increase efficiency, enhance reporting quality, and ensure compliance with internal control requirements is also a core function.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Financial reporting and analysis
Account reconciliation and month-end close processes
Knowledge of GAAP, SEC, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
Strong communication and presentation skills
Leadership, coaching, and employee development
Process improvement and internal controls expertise
Financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting
Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
Ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial statements and reports.
Experience analyzing financial results and communicating findings to management.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
Experience working with confidential financial information.
Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, external auditors, vendors, banks, and customers.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Accounting (MSA) preferred.
CPA, CMA, and/or MBA certification preferred.
Experience supervising or leading accounting professionals preferred.
Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 5–6%).
