Accounting Summer Intern
About The Position
As a key team member of the Accounting department, the intern will be responsible for managing assigned projects and supporting accounting team members with projects, in alignment with the finance team’s priorities. This position contributes to the department by improving the quality and flow of information, building departmental culture, and promoting the adoption of new processes and tools. Based on the intern’s qualifications and interests, we will tailor the internship program and establish a relationship with the team within Accounting that best fits the needs and interests of the intern. Available teams include General Accounting, Derivatives, Cash Applications, Technical Accounting & Reporting, Fixed Assets, Retail Accounting, and Settlements Accounting.
Requirements
- Accounting, Finance, or another related field major
- Experience working on a team
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office products
- Understanding of Accounting and any concentrations within it

- Strong communicator who can relate well to all levels
- Appetite to learn something new
- Time management skills – internship, school, extracurriculars
- Possess and exhibit a high level of integrity
- Consultative problem-solving approach
- Proven track record of success, a collaborative and participative style, and the ability to make presentations to Accounting staff
- Hands-on, enthusiastic, results-oriented analyst, capable of adding significant value to the existing team
- Able to quickly adapt to a rapidly changing environment, deal well with ambiguity, and take ownership for decision making
Responsibilities
- Develop and present regular and timely reports and presentations, including illustrations and graphics of Accounting initiatives and associated business outcomes
- Gather data to support departmental and team reporting
- Recommend and design solutions to meet needs
