About The Position

The Accounting Staff position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization within the accommodation and food services industry (Hospitality). This role is responsible for accurately processing financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, balance sheet transactions, cash, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls while providing timely financial information to management for decision-making. By maintaining detailed and organized financial records, the Accounting Staff helps to optimize budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall financial health and sustainability of the business by supporting accurate and transparent accounting practices.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, M3, SUN, SAP, OneStream, PeopleSoft or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Communication skills are important for collaborating with internal teams and external auditors to support financial transparency.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience working in the accommodation and food services industry or a related hospitality sector.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and tax regulations specific to the United States.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and USALI.
  • Certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and industry-specific regulations, enhance the ability to contribute to more complex accounting tasks and support strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Process and record daily financial transactions including invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Reconcile cash and bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
