About The Position

The Accounting Specialist will provide support for the three Accounting functions at Hickman's Egg Ranch: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Order Entry. The Accounting Specialist will have specific and extensive knowledge of all aspects of each duty and shall use this particular skillset to take on special projects that arise in each department, and for management.

Requirements

• Proven working experience as Accounts Receivable Clerk and Accounts Payable Clerk.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Data entry skills along with a propensity for numbers.
• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Code such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports and records.
• Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
• Work with other departments to verify and record transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Help ensure compliance with internal accounting controls and procedures.
• Assist with audits and other financial projects as needed.
