About The Position

CONES Solutions is looking to expand our Administrative Team for our primary location in Moline, IL. We are seeking qualified applicants for an Accounting Specialist position. The Accounting Clerk supports the General Manager in completing the activities of the accounting department and is responsible for the general business functions. This position is primarily responsible for data entry, invoicing, collections, and maintaining accurate accounting records.

Requirements

  • Accurately compute, compile, classify, record, verify, and maintain numerical data used for accounting records
  • Maintain a high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time
  • Analyze and interpret business transactions
  • Read, analyze, and interpret industry-related materials
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees
  • Ability to solve complex accounting problems and deal with numerous variables concerning company accounts
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects
  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Two or more years of prior work experience in an office environment
  • Proficient with information technology tools and applications (e.g., PC/Windows, Office applications, business systems, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year associate degree in accounting preferred OR equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Compile, sort, verify, and post details of business transactions, such as invoicing and processing funds to the accounting general ledger and bank
  • Audit and prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, statements, reports, and other records and reviews for accuracy
  • Ensure collections occur on a timely basis
  • Reconcile reports, discrepancies, and problems
  • Answer, direct, or take messages for all account inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned
