About The Position

Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records, payroll, and general ledger by performing the following duties. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalency.
Minimum two years previous experience with Accounts Receivables & GL.
Previous College courses in Accounting or Finance a must.
Minimum of one year payroll experience.
Professional, good customer service skills and ability to keep information confidential.

Nice To Haves

OMB Head Start accounting experience a plus.
Average Excel Knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

Understands and Manifests the Philosophy and Mission of DCSSA.
Compiles and records documents, such as cash & payroll transactions.
Maintains General Ledger and Accounts Receivable Ledger.
Maintains bank accounts, including deposits and reconciliations.
Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, totals accounts to ledgers and other databases.
Reconciles and resolves GL report discrepancies.
Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures.
Processes time cards, prepares payroll and maintains payroll records using ADP.
Assists with preparation of Annual Budget.
Assists with internal and external Audits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Handles all accounts receivable related activities, such as reconciling deposits, entering payments, & adjusting AR balances needed.
