Accounting Specialist
About The Position

Are you a recent Accounting or Finance graduate looking to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of accounting? We're seeking an Accounting Specialist to join a growing organization that is expanding its international presence and investing in the development of its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in accounting while working alongside experienced professionals and gaining exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting, collections, and banking operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Recent graduates encouraged to apply!)
- Internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, AP, or AR
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accrual-based accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- QuickBooks experience
- Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, or reconciliations
- Collections or billing experience
- Experience supporting audits or month-end close activities
Responsibilities
- Support Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, purchase order matching, and reconciliations
- Assist with Accounts Receivable functions, including billing, cash application, collections, and account maintenance
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts
- Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities
- Support monthly financial reporting and accounting analysis
- Process domestic and international ACH and wire transactions
- Assist in gathering documentation and schedules for external audits
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial records
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures
