About The Position

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and all accounting and credit operations of the company. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity and accuracy through daily management of General Accounting and Cash Management. It prepares and maintains financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, which include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience manufacturing and corporate accounting
  • Sound judgement, strong reasoning skills, excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional work ethic
  • ERP experience, EPICOR preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting software systems and Excel
  • Working knowledge of payroll
  • Able to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex legal and financial information
  • Team oriented
  • Task and goal oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes knowledge of the fundamental doctrines, theories, principles, and terminology of accountancy and often entails some understanding of such related fields as business law, statistics, and general management.
  • Analyzes the effects of transactions upon account relationships.
  • Evaluate alternative means of treating transactions.
  • Project accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition.
  • Interprets the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements.
  • Advises operating officials on accounting matters.
  • Prepares and review monthly statements, including analytical review of the monthly operating results, to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
  • Reconciles accounts such as bank and bank card statements.
  • Transacts fixed assets and coordinates with subsidiaries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintains an effective ERP system, closing monthly jobs and conducting inventory reconciliations and reports.
  • Conducts ACH, wires, and other treasury functions.
  • Prepares payroll reports.
  • Prepares monthly and year-end close and reporting.
  • Supports to maintain SOPPs and financial/operating metrics.
  • Reports excise taxes, business licenses, and vehicle titles and supports reporting for other regulatory agencies.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
