About the Role Reporting to the Global Controller, the Accounting Specialist (12-month temporary assignment), will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring a reliable system of internal controls across processes such as month-end close, order-to-cash, and taxation.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance will be expected for this role.
  • 5+ years' progressive accounting experience.
  • Adaptable and can shift gears with ease working around competing priorities.
  • Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise using Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of ERP Systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
  • Fulfill requirements necessary to obtain and clear a full background check.

Nice To Haves

  • A CPA (or in process of completion) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue accounting: report and analyze recurring revenue with a focus on reviewing customer contracts, deferred revenue management, and SaaS Metric reporting.
  • Accounts Receivable: Manage invoicing for revenue contracts, customer requests and collections.
  • Financial reporting: completion of quarterly financial statements (including consolidation) and reporting package, year-end, and audit with the support of the Corporate Accountant.
  • Reconciliations: Reconcile allocated balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Intercompany: Record inter-company transactions and reconcile balances.
  • Financing: prepare applications for government assistance programs and grants.
  • Treasury Management: manage bank accounts, and review banking transactions.
  • Tax: oversee company tax compliance including filing of GST/HST and corporate taxes.
  • Forecasting: assist in annual budget preparation, variance analysis, and internal management reporting.
