About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our growing accounting team. This position is responsible for managing accounting activities for a portfolio of multiple entities within the self-storage industry. The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliation skills, experience with high-volume transaction processing, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or property accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with month-end close activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple entities and competing deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting activities for a portfolio of multiple entities.
  • Process and review high-volume accounts payable transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform deposit and revenue reconciliations.
  • Review budget-to-actual variances and investigate discrepancies.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve outstanding items.
  • Assist with and complete month-end close procedures.
  • Research and process credit card chargebacks and related adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with operations and management teams to resolve accounting issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
