The Accounting Specialist (Full-Charge Bookkeeping) is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, account reconciliations, tax filings, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting. This role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, organization, and independent judgment. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, identifies opportunities for improvement, and provides reliable financial support that promotes accountability, operational efficiency, and the continued success of the business.

Requirements

3+ years of solid, hands-on bookkeeping experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business preferred
Proficient with QuickBooks
Experience with Microsoft and Google office
Maintains a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations
Able to work well independently with diverse clients
Self-starter who is energetic and flexible.
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
Tobacco-free workplace; adherence to company policy required during working hours
Must pass a drug test and background check

Responsibilities

Addresses customers and/or vendors concerns and questions regarding invoices and payments.
Maintain general ledgers including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, journal entries, month-end close and year-end
Process payroll, payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, 1099s, W-2s, and prepare financial statements
Prepare monthly financial statements
Prepare reports and summaries for management
Track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Make bank deposits, reconcile bank statements
Prepare quarterly tax filings
Organize and maintain all documents
Must ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial/reporting files
Ensures 100% compliance with all company policies, guidelines and procedures.
Supports and assists team members on as needed basis.
Maintains a neat and clean appearance at all times.
