About The Position

The Muransky Companies is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist / Bookkeeper to support our centralized accounting and finance team in Boardman, Ohio. This position offers a flexible schedule and may be structured as either a 32-hour part-time role or a full-time position depending on the qualifications and availability of the selected candidate. The ideal candidate will support month-end and year-end financial statement closing procedures, maintain accurate accounting records, and assist with tax reporting, annual information reporting, and other compliance-related accounting requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience.
  • Proficient with corporate accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and financial data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage records across multiple corporate entities.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing processes and management reporting for multiple affiliated business entities.
  • Prepare and post month-end and year-end journal entries.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for various general ledger accounts, including corporate bank accounts.
  • Track fixed asset purchases, additions, and disposals for assigned business entities.
  • Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting requirements.
  • Support management with special projects, audits, census reporting, and other accounting initiatives.
