About The Position

This position is in the Financial Management bureau reporting to the Accounts Payable section. This is a full-time position that works closely with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) financial information and is responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, protected and in compliance with accounting standards. This position requires excellent customer service skills as it will require interacting with internal and external customers.

  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program
  • Ability to use computer software skills, including INTERMEDIATE skills in database/spreadsheet software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.

Responsibilities

  • Processing complex vendor payments
  • Auditing invoices and recording payments in FLAIR ensuring payments are in compliance with Florida Statute 215 and all policies/rules/guidelines as applicable
  • Auditing trip forms in the Statewide Travel Management System (STMS) and processing payments
  • Serving as the backup FDLE administrator for the PCard Works System and STMS
