About The Position

We are seeking an Accounting Service Representative to temporarily join our team that shares the vision to be a proactive, reliable and agile partner helping Claims achieve their objectives. Depending on the candidate's level of experience we could consider a level III position. This is a 6-month contract.

Requirements

College Diploma in accounting (asset) or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
At least 1 year experience in a similar rôle.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power BI, etc.).
Efficiency and attention to detail.
Proactive, desire to learn and understand, and a strong interest in teamwork.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to establish good working relationships.
Bilingualism (English and French) is essential - Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
No work experience in Canada required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the insurance field is an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform daily reconciliation of claims recoveries.
Coordinate and request intercompany fund transfers to support bank account reconciliations.
Support the month end process by preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified via reconciliations of recoveries.
Serve as a back up for the preparation and distribution of weekly financial reports required to update claims records.
Support the implementation of recommendations from the financial internal controls review.
Assist with clearing legacy GL accounts.
Share process improvement opportunities with management.
Provide various administrative support such as creating purchase orders, issuing payments, etc.
