As an Accounting Research/Technical Accounting Consultant, you’ll serve as a trusted technical accounting partner supporting financial statement integrity and complex accounting matters across the organization. You’ll apply deep accounting expertise and seasoned judgment to highly complex, non‑routine issues, while mentoring others and influencing outcomes through clear analysis and well‑supported recommendations. You’ll also play an active role in identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation, data, and technology — helping drive efficiency, quality, and scalability across the function. Success in this role requires strong technical acumen, curiosity, and the confidence to tackle complex problems head‑on. Your work will be challenging, visible, and meaningful — and guided by our Core Values, you’ll continue to learn, grow, and make a difference at Williams. In this role, you will support high-impact, non-routine accounting matters that are visible across the organization. Responsibilities may include researching and documenting accounting conclusions for unique transactions, advising on transaction structuring and deal evaluation in partnership with finance and business teams, and coordinating support for audit and external reporting deliverables. You will be a key partner in applying U.S. GAAP in areas that require careful interpretation and well-supported judgment, helping stakeholders evaluate alternatives, align on a position, and clearly document the rationale. Engagements may span acquisitions, joint ventures, adoption of new accounting standards, and other complex transactions—well-suited for an individual who can translate technical guidance into practical, business-focused recommendations.
