About The Position

The Accounting Reimbursement Analyst I role is a great opportunity for a new accounting graduate or current accounting student to build a strong foundation in healthcare accounting. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to core accounting principles, financial analysis, and multi‑state cost reporting while working alongside experienced accounting teams in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience) preferred, or current enrollment in an accounting program.
Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles is a plus.
Proficiency with standard office software, including Outlook and Word, with strong Excel skills, required.
Some experience using accounting software is a plus, but not required.
Experience with Workday Financials is a plus, but not required.
Strong communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Eagerness to learn and grow, with a curiosity to build new skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

Prepare financial data and supporting workpapers to assist with the preparation and filing of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports across multiple states.
Ensure the accuracy of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for asset and liability accounts.
Compile, maintain, and review supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts to ensure completeness and audit readiness.
Analyze payment reports to identify and communicate cost report adjustments related to asset and liability accounts.
Review monthly occupancy reports and support occupancy-related calculations used in reporting.
Collaborate closely with service center accounting teams, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, general ledger, and financial reporting, to support accurate and timely financial processes.
Provide support for ad hoc projects and special initiatives as business needs arise.
