About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accounting and Reception Clerk is responsible for providing courteous and productive reception services for the Edward F. Lorraine Building and Crown Lending Agencies. Duties include greeting visitors, answering phones, mail support, document preparation and tracking, records management, bank deposits, and booking and upkeep of the Edward F. Lorraine board and meeting rooms. The role involves maintaining information dealing with loan client files, documentation and electronic information, and accounts payable. This position supports board meeting logistics, including arrangement of meeting venues, handling board member travel needs, and acting as recording secretary during board meetings. The Accounting and Reception Clerk will be required to establish an efficient work schedule and work within a team-oriented environment, also expected to work under minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • High school education plus three (3) years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Outlook, Excel (or comparable word processing and spreadsheet software).
  • Creative eye to promote the optimal use of computer technology to enhance work processes and maximize efficiencies.
  • Good fundamental book-keeping and data entry skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal skills in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills in interacting with a variety of people.
  • Excellent organizational skills, prioritization, judgement and initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and often without supervision.
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • An acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Training and experience with an accounting or ERP system is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Farm Loan Board, Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board, Timber Loan Board and the Department of Agriculture objectives and programs, and lending processes would be considered assets.
  • Experience attending board meetings and taking minutes will be considered assets.
