About The Position

Lead the Team That Keeps a $1 Billion Business Moving. We're partnering with a long-established, privately owned California company seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its Accounting department. This is a leadership-first opportunity. You'll manage a team of approximately 15 direct reports across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing while helping improve processes, strengthen accountability, and support a collaborative workplace culture. Requirements

5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Previous experience managing accounting teams
Strong understanding of month-end close and accrual accounting
Experience supervising multiple direct reports
ERP experience required
Process improvement mindset

Nice To Haves

CPA is a plus, but not required
Industry experience within distribution, manufacturing, logistics, wholesale, or petroleum is a plus—but not required.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of approximately 15 accounting professionals
Manage the AP, AR, and Billing departments
Coordinate the monthly close process and ensure deadlines are consistently met
Coach, mentor, and develop employees through regular feedback and performance evaluations
Improve accounting workflows, documentation, and internal controls
Partner with leadership to increase efficiency across the department
Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and accounting operations
Help prepare the organization for future ERP upgrades and process improvements
Foster a collaborative, positive, and accountable culture
