Ulliman Schutte Construction is actively seeking an Accounting Manager to join our finance team. Our company is committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Position Summary: The Accounting Manager will be an integral part of the Accounting Department for Ulliman Schutte and its subsidiaries, responsible for daily financial operations, financial reporting, and analyzing financial data to support strategic decision-making. In addition, the Accounting Manager will work closely with the CFO in human resource matters as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5 + years of progressive accounting experience; construction industry and / or public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with corporate taxes (federal and state income, sales/use, payroll).
  • Experience with auditing processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software applications, experience with Foundation and CMiC is ideal.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and an ability to recognize inconsistencies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
  • Professional and positive demeanor.
  • High commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidential ity .

Nice To Haves

  • Active CPA and/or CCIFP designation is a plus .
  • Proven ability to engage with, supervise , and develop staff effectively.

Responsibilities

  • General bookkeeping, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures, and other general accounting tasks.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Review financial and job-cost data to identify trends and discrepancies, resolving variances.
  • Participate in risk management activities related to insurance and bonds for the company.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Assist CFO in administration of benefit programs and weekly payroll processing.
  • Various other duties and projects as they arise.
