About The Position

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join Talos’ fast-growing, tech-focused Financial Operations team. This role will play a key part in supporting global accounting operations, financial reporting, and strategic finance initiatives. The position is hands-on and suited to someone who views accounting as a strategic business partner, contributing to scalability, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration in a digital assets environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA required
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting/PCAOB experience preferred
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP; IFRS a plus)
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proactive, self-directed, and able to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. Sage Intacct) preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in SaaS, software, or financial services environments preferred
  • Experience with internal controls frameworks (COSO, SOX) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements
  • Own and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including ledger entries and reconciliations
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, including management of outsourced providers
  • Research and apply technical accounting standards (e.g. ASC 606, ASC 350, ASC 718)
  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Collaborate with external advisors on tax, compliance, and technical accounting matters
  • Manage tax filings and corporate reporting in coordination with external firms
  • Coordinate audits across multiple jurisdictions and manage auditor relationships
  • Drive improvements in accounting processes, systems, and internal controls (including SOX/COSO where applicable)
  • Produce periodic and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Support treasury activities including cash flow forecasting
