About The Position

Memorial Health is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. This full-time position involves preparing monthly financial statements, maintaining work papers, and posting journal entries. The role also includes training new accounting staff, serving as a point person for questions, and assisting the Director of Finance with various duties such as operating budgets, benchmark reporting, audits, and cost reporting schedules. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Director to ensure the smooth operation and coordination of the accounting department.

Requirements

Completion of college education with coursework in accounting, Microsoft Office, computers, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries for monthly financial statements assigned by the Director of Finance.
Maintain work papers and computer schedules supporting journal entries using independent interpretation of policies and procedures related to Memorial operations.
Post and verify journal entries to computerized financial system.
Assist Director of Finance with preparation and review of financial statements.
Assist with training of new accounting staff.
Serve as a point person for questions or escalating issues from the staff.
Be available for general counsel for the Director and staff as needed.
Work with the Director to ensure smooth operation of the department and coordination of work across the team to meet the service level of the department.
Assist the Director with other duties assigned such as operating budget, quarterly benchmark reporting, audit, cost reporting schedules, Memorial Health Foundation, Health Partners and productivity reports.
