About The Position

The Cook will operate and utilize kitchen equipment and utensils to prepare, portion, and serve food for all food service lines. This role involves interacting with staff, washing and sanitizing utensils and appliances, and relocating food, supplies, and dishes. The Cook will follow general instructions, interpret menus, and exhibit behaviors reflective of Memorial’s core values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service. Regular and predictable attendance is expected. Additionally, the Cook must attend all mandatory education and in-services and complete mandatory health requirements.

Requirements

One (1) year experience in institutional food preparation experience.

Responsibilities

Operates/utilizes kitchen equipment (e.g., oven, steam table, etc.) and utensils (e.g. pots, pans, knives, etc.) to prepare, portion, and serve food (e.g. meats, vegetables, soups, etc.) for all food service lines.
Interacts with staff to prepare, portion, and serve food.
Washes/sanitizes utensils and appliances after use.
Relocates food, supplies, and dishes to designated areas.
Follows general instructions and interprets menus.
Exhibits behaviors reflective of Memorial’s core values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service.
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
Attends all mandatory education and in-services (i.e., team training, safety, infection control, etc.).
Completes mandatory health requirements.
