About The Position

At Network for Hope (NFH), the Accounting Manager plays a vital role in supporting our mission by leading the daily operations of the Finance Department and partnering with the Controller and CFO to ensure accurate, efficient, and reliable financial processes across the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience required
  • Experience with computerized accounting and data systems preferred
  • Ability to manipulate substantial amounts of data
  • Advanced computer skills in MS office, accounting software and databases
  • Proven work experience as Accounting Manager
  • Ability to provide direction and oversee work
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • 7 years of accounting or related experience preferred
  • Years of experience requirement may be reduced when experience is both progressive and advanced specific to accounting

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and month/year-end close
  • Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor accounting staff
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and internal procedures
  • Monitor and analyze financial data; prepare reports and statements
  • Improve systems and processes; recommend and implement corrective actions
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with annual audit coordination and cost report preparation
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial security practices
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, audit findings, and compliance issues
  • Safeguard confidential financial information
  • Assist in budget preparation and ongoing financial forecasting
  • Monitor variances and support corrective financial planning
  • Stay current with industry trends and accounting best practices
  • Perform other financial and administrative duties as assigned
