NBSIN Accounting Manager Are you a results-driven accounting professional with a passion for leadership and continuous improvement? We’re looking for an Accounting Manager to join our division's leadership team and play a key role in driving financial excellence, supporting strategic decision-making, and developing future finance leaders. Reporting directly to the Division Controller, this is an opportunity to collaborate closely with division leaders, provide insight through financial analysis, and lead a team of 3-5 teammates. Nucor expects the ideal candidate to be ready to grow into a Department Manager position within 3–5 years and be open to relocation, as this is a developmental position within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a financial related position
  • candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Finance Team Toward Excellence: Guide, mentor, and develop finance personnel to ensure performance and growth.
  • Collaborate on Financial and Operational Strategy: Partner with managers to analyze financial results, operational trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Promote Teamwork and Transparency: Foster a collaborative and transparent environment within the division’s leadership team.
  • Oversee Financial Operations: Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, credit, fixed assets, tax reporting, compliance reporting, and month-end balancing.
  • Support Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in annual budget development and provide monthly forecasts to support business decisions.
  • Maintain Accurate and Timely Records: Ensure all financial transactions are recorded and reported in accordance with company standards.
  • Implement and Communicate Financial Policies: Ensure clear understanding and consistent application of accounting and financial policies across the division.
  • Drive System and Process Improvements: Lead initiatives to enhance internal controls, reporting systems, and overall financial processes.
  • Supervise Audits and Internal Controls: Oversee internal and external audit processes and maintain strong control environments.
  • Provide Cross-Functional Financial Insights: Deliver data-driven analysis to support strategic initiatives and drive cost improvement efforts across departments.
