About The Position

International Door Products (IDP), an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a newly created role at its manufacturing facility in Detroit, Michigan. This position reports to the Director, Accounting and Financial Analysis and is initially an individual contributor role requiring a hands-on approach and a strong ownership mindset. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounting and finance, strong communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. The role involves handling financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prior experience working under strict reporting deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required, ideally in an industrial goods enterprise with multiple locations
  • Effective communicator with a growth mindset and ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus
  • experience with QuickBooks, JD Edwards, and OneStream preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules
  • Conduct customer and vendor account reconciliations
  • Analyze variances against budget and forecast, providing actionable insights
  • Evaluate the payback of capital investments through detailed financial analysis and clear articulation of investment benefits
  • Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with audits and regulatory filings
  • Utilize financial systems such as QuickBooks, JD Edwards, and OneStream (experience preferred)
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements to support growth objectives
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate governance policies, AADG programs and policies, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
