About The Position

The Accounting Manager will supervise and support accounting staff, serve as the subject matter expert for company accounting systems and processes, and oversee key financial operations. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate financial operations, assisting with monthly financial close, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The manager will also collaborate with leadership and cross-functional departments to provide financial insights and support audit activities. The company, Advance Displays, has been a partner in meeting retail store fixture needs since 1979, specializing in shelving solutions and is the largest stocking Lozier Certified Provider.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–5 years of accounting or financial management experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, financial reporting, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong communicator and collaborative leader.
  • Highly detail-oriented and committed to accuracy, organization, and continuous improvement.
  • Proactive problem solver who takes ownership and enjoys improving processes and systems.
  • Strong in and adapt well to accounting software and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support accounting staff by delegating responsibilities, reviewing work for accuracy, and providing ongoing training and development.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for company accounting systems, procedures, and financial processes related to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger functions.
  • Oversee billing, collections, cash application, vendor payments, and account reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.
  • Assist with monthly financial close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and preparation of financial reports.
  • Help ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with third-party sales tax partners to ensure accurate tax collection, reporting, and remittance.
  • Establish and maintain accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls that improve efficiency and financial accuracy.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional departments to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic goals.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with financial procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and overall operational effectiveness.
