About The Position

The Accounting Manager is a direct report to the North America Controller on the Global Finance Operations (GFO) & Controllership Team and is responsible for the accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting submissions for North America. You will lead 2-3 accounting professionals located in Milwaukee, WI and will also work with peers and customers to gain cooperation to accomplish goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Nice To Haves

  • Typically requires 2 years of management experience.
  • CPA Public accounting firm experience with exposure to global industrial companies.
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP, accounting transactions, balance sheet and income statement preparation, revenue recognition, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and journal entries.
  • Establish and maintain a sound internal control environment through business transformation.
  • Experience with Integrated ERP systems (SAP/Epicor/Workday) and the Oracle EPM suite including Financial Consolidation and Close, Account Reconciliations, and Journal entries are recommended, but not required.
  • Experience identifying areas for process improvement through digitization and automation.
  • Willingness to participate in a hybrid work team creating a work environment where all individuals can and want to make an impact.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the general ledger month-end close activity for North America, through review of adjusting journal entries and related financial information.
  • Review account reconciliations and reconciling items to ensure resolution and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Develop accounting staff, maintaining high employee engagement with a focus on mentoring and training.
  • Assist North America Controller to ensure external and internal reporting requirements are met, including requests for internal and external audits.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement projects and support implementation of enhancements to existing systems and processes.
  • Develop relationships and provide exceptional service to finance and business stakeholders including responding to feedback and issues.
  • Help with the transfer of workload to Rockwell Finance Centers of Excellence and integration into Rockwell Automation's standard processes.
