About The Position

CUAnswers is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its accounting team and oversee financial operations for CUAnswers and its affiliated organizations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys team leadership, process improvement, and ensuring financial accuracy in a fast-paced cooperative environment. The Accounting Manager will mentor employees, manage various accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and partner with leadership on strategic financial initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Microsoft GP or Business Central experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team.
• Coach, mentor, and develop employees while helping drive department success.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, cash management, and other accounting functions.
• Manage month-end and year-end accounting activities, including external audit coordination.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
• Support monthly billing, collections, and revenue recognition processes.
• Maintain accounting systems, documentation, and internal controls.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, planning, reporting, and process improvements.
