About The Position

Penske Automotive Group (PAG) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team and support and lead business operations in the accounting department. The Accounting Manager will process and generate financial data for all dealership departments, ensuring the accurate financial condition of the business office. This role reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for the effective operation of the accounting office. Strong leadership and communication skills are required.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of accounting experience within the automotive industry is required.

Responsibilities

  • Process and generate financial data for all dealership departments.
  • Ensure the accurate financial condition of the business office.
  • Effectively operate the accounting office.
  • Supervise, including discretion in hiring and terminating, exempt and non-exempt personnel in the business office.
  • Establish personal performance goals consistent with organizational standards and devise strategies to meet them.
  • Effectively hire personnel required to meet departmental and organizational goals.
  • Manage personnel, including discipline and termination, to meet departmental and organizational goals.
  • Effectively lead a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

  • Process data and organize it for management analysis.

  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw t-bar graphs.
  • Calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
