About The Position

PHMC serves as both a direct service provider to individuals, families, and communities across the region and as an intermediary agent — managing large-scale contracts, government and philanthropic partnerships, and multidisciplinary initiatives that require operational sophistication, strategic leadership, and deep mission alignment. COMPONENT: Finance DIVISION: Accounting JOB OVERVIEW: Under the general supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for various activities involving the fiscal operations of PHMC and its subsidiaries. This position will assist the Controller in the preparation and coordination of formal budget and forecasting programs. This position will work with the Controller in the planning of the annual audit and all schedules required for completion. This position will work directly with other staff in the areas of billing, cash management, and other projects that are needed in the Finance department.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Must possess technical and professional accounting skills and the ability to develop financial and other operational systems.
  • Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management, both internal and external.
  • Strong written and verbal skills are required.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC and related accounting applications, preferably in Microsoft Dynamics.

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review Purchase Request forms and monitor for coding accuracy and Budget Allocation.
  • Prepare/Review Invoices for Fee-for-Service and Cost Reimbursement Billing.
  • Prepare journal entries for Cash Receipts, Prepaid, Accrued Expenses, Depreciation, and adjusting entries.
  • Prepare budget projections/forecasts for Programs and/or Subsidiaries.
  • Maintain follow-up on due dates for general ledger submission, billing, and reports that must be prepared within the area of responsibility.
  • Perform account reconciliation and complete audit schedules as assigned.
  • Prepare/maintain Accounts Receivable Aging, monitor receivables, and pursue cash collections.
  • Assist in the preparation of the request for proposal budgets.
  • Supervise staff in accounting clerk, staff accountant, and/or senior accountant level positions.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets.
  • Monitor actual results vs. budget.
  • Develop financial forecasts and variance analyses.
  • Analyze financial data and present reports to senior management.
