About The Position

The Accounting Manager ensures the accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions. Directly supervises and evaluates the day-to-day activities of designated personnel and works cross-functionally with various teams throughout the organization.

Requirements

General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
Experience managing a team.
Knowledge of advanced formulas and pivot tables in Excel.
Ability to set, measure and consistently achieve goals within established timelines.
Willingness to develop team members for additional responsibility.
Ability to communicate clearly both in written and verbal interactions.
Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Certificate(s) or License(s) preferred: CPA, PMP

Responsibilities

Supports the team’s month-end closing activities including the completion of journal entries, account reconciliations, and expense variance explanations.
Prepares and maintains well-defined financial reports for use in validating and analyzing financial results.
Maintains accurate records and completes timely submissions for business operating permits and licensing.
Routinely works with the various financial systems used by the department to research and answer questions related to the financial statements.
Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Seeks opportunities to modify or enhance current business processes to ensure optimal productivity.
Builds and develops strong relationships with others throughout the organization to develop solutions to new situations and to identify or correct problems.
Compiles internal process memos, process mapping, and other documentation related to accounting transactions and journal entries.
